Established in 1856, the National Hotel is one of Geelong's oldest and most iconic pubs. Located on the corner of Moorabool & Little Malop Streets in the heart of the CBD, the hotel has been a longstanding meeting place for locals and visitors alike for more than 160 years.
From dining by the fire in our Dining Room, to drinks on the Rooftop Terrace and good times in the Public Bar, the National Hotel offers great food, cold drinks, weekly specials, live entertainment, private functions and old school hospitality in the heart of Geelong’s CBD.
The Pub

The Publican
Today, the National enters a new chapter under the stewardship of local publican Matt O'Kane. Having grown up in Geelong, Matt's acquisition of “The Nash” represents more than just a business venture – it's a homecoming.
Matt comes from good pub stock and has worked in the hospitality and leisure industry for the past 30-years. From Collendina to Culgoa, Melbourne to Mitta Mitta – Matt has seen it all. After building a reputation for creating warm, welcoming pubs that celebrate hospitality, heritage and community, Matt has returned to the city where it all began.
